PASTOR: Gabe Krell
Bro. Gabe Krell has been pastor of Good Hope since November of 2021. He and his wife Andrea are natives of Hattiesburg, MS. They have been married since 1999 and have two teenage children.
Gabe graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in music and from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2004 with a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling and a masters degree in Christian Education. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and has served in associational and church counseling ministries. Gabe has ministered in music, education and as pastor for churches in Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and now Mississippi. His calling is to help individuals, families, and churches become healthier by a deeper application of God’s Word and deeper walk with Christ Himself. This inreach produces greater outreach as we love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and love our neighbor as ourselves. He enjoys playing cue sports, making up silly songs, and sailing. |
Youth Pastor: Shane Atkins
Bro. Shane Atkins has been the student pastor at Good Hope since May of 2018. He and his wife, Kodi, have been married since 2010 and reside in Purvis with their 4 children.Shane graduated from Liberty University in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus in Christian Counseling. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Liberty University as well. Prior to his full-time ministry calling, Shane was a full-time firefighter for the City of Petal and Lamar County. Shane’s call to ministry began in 2008 when he was given the opportunity to serve as the student intern at Good Hope Baptist Church. During his employment as a firefighter, Shane was also a bi-vocational student pastor for another local church. He went on to take a full-time associate pastor position in 2014 at a church in north Mississippi for 4 years until accepting the student pastor position at Good Hope in 2018. He desires for all students within our community to be given the same opportunities to serve the Lord so that they can continue to grow in their faith and become strong spiritual leaders on a mission to share the Gospel. Shane enjoys camping, wood and leather working, and being involved with his family’s many activities.

Secretary: Judy Schlott
Judy is the secretary of Good Hope. She and her husband Ren are local residents of
Purvis. They have two wonderful children, four amazing grandchildren and two precious dogs. She graduated from PRCC in 1978 and began her career in the computer industry, retiring recently from Forrest General Hospital after thirty-four years of service. God has molded her through those years preparing for where he leads her to go. Judy has been a member of Good Hope Baptist Church since 2005, participating in many facets of service during the years; Sunday school teacher, discipleship teacher, leading the youth choir, Director of WMU, working with missions, as you can see she loves serving. She’s excited to be the church secretary to see what God has in store for this next season of life. She has always felt God put in her heart to be a missionary of sorts and feels in this position she will get the opportunity to share the gospel in more ways than one. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing games and crafting. |

Children's Ministry: Jennifer McMorrow
Jennifer McMorrow is a native of Purvis Mississippi with 3 beautiful children with her husband, Robert. Jennifer graduated PRCC in 2013 with an Associates degree and continued her education in Accounting and Financial Management. Since becoming a member of Good Hope in 2013, she has volunteered over the years as a Sunday school teacher, discipleship training teacher, nursery and children church volunteer, Mommy and Me ministry, and VBS. Her vision for the children’s department is to provide a safe environment for families to grow their faith and learn to love like Jesus while having a firm foundation in biblical truth.

We are conveniently located just outside of Purvis, MS. Our church campus is located 15 minutes from West Hattiesburg / Oak Grove, 15 Minutes from the Dixie Community and 15 minutes from South Hattiesburg. We are a short, easy drive from most of Lamar County and much of South Forrest County.
